Expert Commercial Advice

Louise Thompson completed a law degree and gained her Legal Practice Certificate, including modules on medical law and IT law in the mid 90s.  

After that, Louise spent over 25 years in legal & commercial teams in blue-chip tech companies, such as EDS, BT, SAP and Sopra Steria.  She co-authored 'Supplier-led Innovation & Continuous Improvement" with T Cummins, T Morgan, H Soper et al and spoke at IACCM (now World Commerce & Contracting) at their European Conference in Krakow in 2017.

Louise has worked in Europe, north America and sub-Saharan Africa, including Rwanda and Cameroon and is experienced at managing cultural aspects of negotiating.

She has led contracts of upwards of 400m gbp/pa, from pre-bid stage to exit and has been instrumental in many pragmatic, positive resolutions to those contractual disputes that are common in large tech provision.  She has operated buy-side and sell side; in contracts between private companies and business to government.  She recently presented to the Association of Project Managers on the subject of negotiation.

Louise formed and led high performing commercial teams before moving into business leadership positions as Commercial Director.  Always pioneering, Louise formed part of the leadership team of a number of divestments and start ups and then became MD of a joint venture between the Royal Marsden, the Institute for Cancer Research and Sopra Steria, looking at using AI to accelerate whole body MRI.   She first spoke about the ethics of automation in a Tedx at Newcastle University in 2018.

Louise has an MSc from UMIST and a Certificate in Company Direction from the Institute of Directors by way of examination with Warwick Business School.  

She is an alumna of Windsor Leadership Trust.  

Louise is currently a Governor at Queen Victoria Foundation NHS Trust and a Committee Member of BSI Art/1 on AI.  She is a CEDR-accredited mediator and founder of Myfolks.  Louise has lived in Sussex with her husband Paul for over 20 years and they enjoy cycling and swimming, whilst Louise has retained her passion for NUFC, despite the distance and regularly travels back to her native north east.
